Jason and I have had one car our whole marriage. I'm usually the one who gets lucky and gets to take our car and Jason gets the wonderful options of riding his bike or car-pooling with his mom (which doesn't aways work since they work different hours). We've also been really lucky and shared his parents extra car with Jason's sister, Jenn when we have needed it.

That worked out for a long time until recently. Now that my nephew is in school 4 days a week and its getting colder we found ourselves wondering what to do in order to get Jason to work (on time) and not have him riding his bike in the winter (I don't really want to receive that call again). Options? None, so we sucked it up and decided to start looking, not really planning on buying one quite yet.

We always said that when we got a second car that it was going to be a Jeep or another SUV. We aren't really car people, but we knew that wasn't smart to do right now. So we started talking about cars that we like and we came up with only one (that we could afford). We started pricing them out and test driving them.

We drove a couple that we liked, but weren't crazy about. Then we went to drive one in Bountiful, that had really low miles and a ton of upgrades for a great price. Jason loved it! So 2 hours later, we had a new (to us) car.
